January 11, 2020
To our friends, allies, and supporters –
For the past five years, we have been honored to work beside the most talented social justice movements and leaders of our time. This has been a difficult year for all of us, and the Megaphone team has come together to make the collective decision to close our firm on January 31, 2021.
We are so proud of the work our team has done to both make this past year a success for Megaphone and support the movement in such a challenging time. But part of the process of fighting the good fight is knowing when to stop and take a breath. We know that the work is bigger than any one job, and we’re excited to see what comes next for all of us and the movement.
Megaphone has become one of the most diverse and intersectional organizations in progressive politics — and that’s a key to our success. We are led and run by Queer and Trans folks, BIPOC, disabled people, immigrants, women, and people from the intersections of historically disenfranchised communities. We’ve had some incredible wins, which you can read about here.
We fought hard through the Trump presidency and global pandemic — and now we need a moment to pause, rest, and figure out what’s next for each of us.
The work doesn’t stop for any of us with this transition, and we know each of us will continue fighting to make this world better tomorrow than it is today. We ask for your support as we pause and find new roles and new ways to continue the fight for social justice. Learn more about our outstanding team and the opportunities they are pursuing here.
In Solidarity,
The Megaphone Team
